Every day, our Certified Financial Counselors help people make positive financial changes. This free and confidential service is available to all Direct Financial members. It is designed to help you strengthen your financial situation.
We help you master the fundamentals of your finances, so you have more control over your money and can put it to work for you. We offer the following services.
Budget Counseling
We’ll look at your cash flow and set up a budget and spending plan targeted toward specific financial goals.
Credit Counseling
We’ll review your credit report in detail and make a plan to improve your credit score.
Debt Counseling
We’ll look at all of your debts and identify opportunities to restructure them to help you reach your goals faster.

Amanda Seeholzer

Since joining NEFCU in 2011, Amanda Seeholzer has helped thousands of members obtain mortgages, home equity loans, credit cards, personal loans, and deposit accounts. Based on that broad experience, Amanda now works as a Financial Counselor, assisting members with 预算, improving creditworthiness, and establishing spending plans. She also provides specific guidance on how Vermonters can protect themselves from identity theft and fraud. Amanda regularly teaches financial education classes to members and local college students, and gets great satisfaction from helping people improve their financial well-being.
Emily Phelps

Emily joined NEFCU in 2015 as a teller while finishing her undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont. After graduation, she transitioned to the role of a Member Service Representative, helping members reach their financial goals through deposit accounts, consumer loans, and various retail products and services.
